Kathryn was born in New York and grew up there and New Jersey. She went to school in Bergenfield, NJ where she majored in art. In 1980 she moved to Wisconsin and attended UW Madison, (Com Arts/Theatre) UW Platteville, (Com Arts/Business) Edgewood College (Psychology/Women's Studies) and Madison Area Technical College (Com Art/Journalism). Up until 1996, writing, music programming and radio work were her chief occupations. After a near fatal brush with death (pneumonia), she realized if she was ever going to paint she better get started before it was too late.
Kathryn paints with a combination of ink, cold water dyes and metallic powders. She uses mostly 140 lb. cold press paper. All of the paintings are UV coated, several times to protect as much as possible the colors from fading.
As an artist, she creates what she would have exist. A healed earth, blue roses that never die, a doorway to my beloved's dreams, a garden where only the love between two people can live, a home where someone is always there for you, space for angels to stick together, energy fields 'viaducts' to prosperity, and a garden blanket to bring restful thoughts.
