Next BE DE FU is Friday,

September 9th at 6:30pm

This month's kit is a FUN combination of some C-Koop leaves and toggle along with a pale shade of new Jade beads. Also in the kit is a funky glass bead with those hues of greens in the bead along with a piece of leather and some fun metal beads! Come early to get the pick of the litter on the C-Koop pieces, they vary quite a bit.

The August BE DE FU kit is Starry Starry Night. You get to pick one of the large star focal pieces, 2 of the little stars in the 2nd picture and the 3rd picture show the rest of the kit. This month I did NOT put in any seed beads, however you can thank the gang up at Diakonos Designs for some really tiny beads. The colors of this month's kit are deep dark blues, grays, black, white and some nice earthy browns. 2 types of fresh water pearls in an off white, some nice glass. Come join the fun! Always laughter and creativity during these events.

July's BeDeFu kit requires you to make 2 decisions before you even begin the competition. The first choice will be what kind of hand made copper focal bead (1 is included in the kit) to use....round? square? and what color as the patina is different on each piece. And on Becky's side there is a choice as well. Which chain do you want to use?....the shell or leaf shapes. Both are very interesting. There are lots of fun copper and glass beads in the kit as well along with some size 11 seed beads. Sign up today to reserve your spot!

May's kit is called Gramma's Flower Garden. As you can see we have many colors blooming in this garden of beads! This promises to be yet another very FUN kit! Call 877-1577 to save your spot for Friday, May 13th. It won't be an unlucky Friday the 13th if you are beading!

April's kit starts off with a delicate length of pink ribbon. An assortment of wood beads, Raku fired beads, metallic pearls & leaves with an AB finish give a beautiful contrast to the mix. Ocean Jasper, Rose Quartz, Pink Peruvian Opal, Fiber Optic, Pink Opalite and seed beads mimic the soft pink colors of the ribbon. Also included is a sweet little heart charm hand made by Becky & Kathy from Diakonos Designs. There is a nice variety of sizes and shapes of beads in this month's kit!

We may have a suprise guest at either this competition or one of our upcoming ones. The new Editor from Bead & Button magazine has expressed some interest in attending. How exciting would it be to have a story in the best bead magazine about our friendly and fun monthly contest!

March's Kit

Green is the theme for March! Personally I would love to see some green grass rather than the drab grimey remains of the snow piles. So...lots of greens in the month's mix. Some very spring like Green Apple Turquoise beads along with some sea glass, seed beads, regular turquoise are a few of the beads in this mix. Also some big hole pearls and very fun shaped glass! Your friends will be green with envy when they see your creations!

February Kit

The focal bead is a striking Raku fired bead from Greece accompanied by an enticing assortment of complimentary beads which include teal blues and copper colors. Other beads in the kit include oxidized copper, beach glass, seed beads, fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystal and Czech glass.

January's kit is inspired by "winter whites" and creams. This will allow for many interpretations of added colors. The kit contains pearls, Howlite rounds and teardrops, along with glass beads and some creamy small stone jasper beads along with pearl colored size 6 seed beads. Becky's side of the kit contains some really fun and interesting beads � as usual. Come join the fun on January 14th! Show us your stuff. (My camera battery is all charged up and ready to go)

December BE DE FU Kit

December's BE DE FU kit contains an AWESOME assortment of beads! As usual :) Free-form cut Black Onyx pieces along with varying sizes of round Black Onyx with just a smattering of silver lined size 6 seed beads (not like the 11's in last month's kit...see I do listen. I also found some 4mm cool silver colored glass cubes and little Hematite cylinder shaped beads. Becky's part of the kit has the funky large holed beads along with a coupon for $7 worth of chain or leather from her shop. The kit contains no Santa, Rudolph or anything remotely connected with Christmas....EXCEPT that you just might end up wearing your stunning masterpiece(s) to Holiday parties and gatherings! See you on the 10th of December.

November BE DE FU Kit

This month's focal piece are original paintings by Kathryn Vaughn. After painting her mini masterpeices she encapsulates them into bezel settings. Choose from round or square and copper or brass colored. Each piece is very unique and rich looking. This is going to be a tough decision (but in a good way :) Pieces for the November kit measure 3/4". Other sizes (both larger & smaller) are available for purchase that night.

November BE DE FU kit has some beautifully rich colors. Another choice you will need to make is which findings to pick from either brass colored or copper colored. Or bead outside the kit and take it in an entirely different direction!

October's BE DE FU!

October Kit: Purple Impression Jasper has many different shades of purple from more reddish to a bluer purple. A great time was had by a record turnout of 19 teams! And WE WON this round. Thanks to Devon Knudson who received the winning votes. And it was her first BE DE FU experience. WHOOOOO HOOOOOO!! Thanks to everyone and looking forward to the next BE DE FU!

September's BE DE FU

The best turnout yet! A record breaking 15 teams competed, one remotely from England. The votes ran very close as usual. Next month's BE DE FU promises to have a few new twists and turns to make it even MORE fun, if that is possible. 12 teams are already signed up....be sure to call soon to reserve your kit!
